NEW MEXICO HOUSE AND RENTAL FOR SALE
Owner built, super efficient, low maintenance, straw bale house and possible rental unit. We've used the possible rental, also owner built, straw bale, for friends and relatives.
NO FLOODS, ICE STORMS, TORNADOES, HURRICANES OR EARTHQUAKES.
We want to be able to travel more, visit with our kids, grandkids, relatives and friends in the US, Canada, Ireland and Europe.
SEMI-RURAL WITH CITY WATER AND SEWER.
Mixed cultural neighborhood, mountain views from living room and office. I work from home as a freelance writer, photographer, columnist and author. I'm an adventure travel companion for seniors and teach photography, video, website construction and build and maintain websites for others. My wife teaches fitness, yoga, Pilates and T'ai Chi at a fitness center. We've taught in the Western US and Canada and want to pursue this further.
THE WEATHER HERE IS GREAT.
We want to be able to spend the winters in the general area, unless working out of the country. We have year-round gardens, established trees, and good neighbors.
LOW COST OF LIVING.
The taxes are low and our utility bills are too. We heat with solar collected in our southern solarium and auxiliary wood heat. In the summer the house is cooled with flow through ventilation at night. We have a small evaporative cooler in the office where our computers are, but none in the house or casita (small house in Spanish). Mexico is 3 miles south, Deming, NM is 30 north and El Paso, TX is 60 East. We were caregivers for my mother the last ten years of her life, and now we're ready to travel again.
